Shipwrecks Inc. is a family company owned in part by underwater archaeologist Dr. E. Lee Spence and largely owned and run by his wife Lauren and his mother-in-law Loretta McEntire. Lee is President of Sea Research Society and the company donates 10% of the profits from each sale to the Society. Lee is best known for his discovery of the tiny Civil War submarine "Hunley." Other important discoveries include the wreck of the Confederate cruiser "Georgiana" and his identification of George Alfred Trenholm as the historical figure behind Margaret Mitchell's fictional blockade runner captain Rhett Butler in "Gone With The Wind." He also discovered the pirate wreck "Diamond."
Lee has been making hot mustard and other spicy foods and sharing them with friends and family most of his life. The company's product are based on Lee's original recipes.
