Bronze cannon (Spanish? 9-pounder) on carriage by Dr. E. Lee Spence $25,000.00

Bronze, 9-pounder, cannon (European, most likely Spanish, pre-1750), on custom display carriage. This cannon is believed to be well over 260 years old and is not safe for firing. It was salvaged many years ago from an unidentified shipwreck in the Philippines. At some point in its past, someone attempted to cut its cascabel off, but it is still solidly attached. Due to submersion in saltwater, the small iron cross pieces that held the bore during casting of the bronze have been rusted away. The cannon is mounted on a naval style carriage that was custom made for the cannon’s display. This would be great piece for home, office or museum display and is currently sitting in Dr. Spence’s living room.
